Some more photos of Tree Babies

Here’s some more recent photos of Tree Babies—the offspring of the lonely and forlorn Tree that was stuck in a giant parking lot and that I adopted way back in 2005—and Tree Baby parents, who have been caring for the Tree Babies that they’ve adopted so beautifully:

Visiting more Tree Babies

Here’s some images from my recent visits (more to come in another post soon):

Visiting some of the Tree Babies

It was beautiful visiting some of the Tree Babies—the offspring of the Tree that I adopted in the middle of a giant parking lot—recently. So happy to see how much they are thriving!

Here’s some images from this spring and from spring 2022 of the Tree Babies at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, California, USA), Pitzer College (Claremont, California, USA), the Torrance Art Museum (Torrance, California, USA), LAXART (former location in Los Angeles, California, USA), the Audubon Middle School (Los Angeles, California, USA), and the Walden School (Pasadena, California, USA).

Many thanks to all the Tree Baby parents (individuals and institutions) who adopted the 200 Tree Babies! And many thanks to all the Tree Baby parents who continue to care for them so beautifully!

A memorial for the Tree

I’m filled with so many emotions, as I continue to grapple with the horror of the City chopping the Tree down. I first encountered the Tree in the middle of Rose Bowl Parking Lot K in Pasadena in 2005, and I will never forget it. I will always love it. It will always be a part of my family. Many thanks to all the Tree Baby parents and to everyone who helps keep the Tree’s memory alive! And many thanks to everyone who participates in the public memorial of the Tree by bringing a rock and placing it around where the Tree once lived.

A memorial honoring the Tree that Joel Tauber adopted in 2005. The Tree lived in the middle of a giant parking lot in front of the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, USA until the City chopped down the Tree in 2019.

Image from Sick-Amour on cover of Das Argument

Wonderful to see an image from Sick-Amour on the cover of the German philosophical journal Das Argument. The issue, “Wie Feministinnen Philosophie der Praxis nutzen können”, explores feminism and the philosophy of praxis, and I’m grateful to be part of it.

Sick-Amour featured in Frankfurter Allgemeine

Many thanks to Jeanne Tremsal and Christopher Roth for including Sick-Amour in a recent exhibition at Fahrbereitschaft in Berlin. And many thanks to Von Niklas Maak and Katja Petrowskaja for this wonderful article in the Frankfurter Allgemeine about Sick-Amour and the other work in the show.
